Joy, Deep Rest, and Good Work in Boulder, Co

See that beautiful lady up there?  Her name is Heather Carlson.  Long (and I mean LONG) before she was a Harmonie House Images client, she was my friend.  In fact, she’s been my ride-or-die since 1994. We were immediate friends from the first day we met as freshmen at Ole Miss.  I was thrilled when my husband and I moved to Charlotte in 2005 because she already lived here. Six years ago she and her family started a new adventure and moved to Boulder, CO.  They were thrilled, but it broke my heart. She has begged me to come visit them for 6 yrs now and, until last September, I had not done so because I hate to (*cough cough* am terrified to) fly.  So, I’ve only seen her when she made her way back east…but we’ll come back to that in a minute. I’m going to brag on her for bit.  She graduated from Ole Miss with a degree in International Business.  She worked successfully in sales for 7-8 yrs before stepping away to be a full-time mom while her kids...

In Harmonie: A New Year’s Confession

In Harmonie: A New Year’s Confession

Show of hands, who's still rockin' the resolutions on day 6??? If that's you, you're amazing and keep up the good work! Here's a confession: I can't remember the last time I made a New Year's resolution. I used to make them when I was younger, but they were more along the lines of good habits I wanted to start. You know, like flossing after every meal or making the bed each day. Easy stuff. Inevitably, after a few days, I'd sleep in and forget about the bed, or my gums would be sore, and usually by the 2nd week of the year, I was over it. Instead, this time of year finds me equal parts desperately wanting to replay the best moments of the previous year while also hopeful and excited for new beginnings. There are days I wish my family and I were back at last year’s vacation, enjoying the life we knew before puberty, high school and social media. And at the same time, I see the upcoming plans on our family’s calendar, and I get downright giddy thinking about how much fun...

Client spotlight: sarah ingle, nest analytics

Today, we are singing the praises of Sarah Ingle, founder of Nest Analytics. Full disclosure, we've known Sarah on a personal level for years. However, it wasn't until we met and began strategizing with her for her personal branding shoot that we got to know professional Sarah. And, let us tell you, we couldn't have been more impressed! This is a whole other side of Sarah that we had never gotten to see before and we absolutely loved seeing her shine! Sarah started Nest Analytics a little over a year ago after having worked in the digital analytics and marketing space for over 10 years. When we asked her about her inspiration for starting her own company, she told us "I kept seeing the same need in the market - companies didn't have anyone to setup their data correctly. Throughout my career on the agency and client side, I've worked with over 30 companies (small local companies all the way to Fortune 100). Not one of them has been without a data infrastructure issue. I started Nest...

CLIENT SPOTLIGHT: Mae Sellner, stitched by mae

Here at Harmonie House Images, what we really love to do is to sing your praises through beautiful brand imagery. Today, we are singing the praises of sweet Mae Sellner of Stitched By Mae. When we launched our business in July, we hosted an Instagram giveaway of our Signature Personal Branding Photo Shoot package to celebrate. Mae's mother, Ashley Sellner of a @a.sellner.art actually won the giveaway, but quickly informed us that she entered the contest with the hopes of being able to gift the photo shoot to her daughter if she won. We loved this so much and were so excited to be able to create imagery for this young businesswoman with such a heart for others! Mae is the owner, designer, and embroiderer for Stitched by Mae. She started her company during the pandemic when she began sewing and embroidering masks for her friends. She gradually progressed to embroidering sweatshirts. She is known for her "love does" and "u are loved" designs, but she has also been known to work with...

In harmonie: finding love notes in colorado

Harmonie House Images Hey friends, it's Miranda with this month's In Harmonie blog post, sharing a few thoughts on what's bringing harmony, or peace, to my life these days. The beginning of the fall season has always been my favorite time of year. The cooler temperatures, the vibrant colors, the favorite boots that have been waiting patiently in my closet since May... for me, this season means the return of familiar rhythms, the joyful anticipation of birthday celebrations, and the excitement of upcoming holiday traditions. It's also the absolute busiest time of year for me, both personally and professionally. As I sit here typing, I'm peeking at the calendar where there are a total of 2 weekends between now and Christmas that aren't already booked for family photo shoots or otherwise spoken for. So when Lori Ellen asked if I'd be interested in traveling to Colorado last month to photograph a wellness retreat, I was surprised at how easily my fingers texted the letters Y-E-S in...
